My goal at NC Conflict Resolution is to help you and your clients find a reasonable and fair solution without the intervention of a judge or jury.
Through NC Conflict Resolution, I offer different, out-of-court paths to resolution.
Drawn out legal disputes can leave both parties mentally and financially exhausted. It can take a lawsuit several years to work its way through the court system and less than 10% of lawsuits go to trial. In most cases, because of efficiency and client satisfaction, lawsuits settle before going to trial. I am confident that common ground and amicable, creative out-of-court resolutions are frequently possible.

I was the first Durham lawyer to be Board Certified as a specialist in family law by the North Carolina State Bar.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, I’ve spent more than half of my life living in Durham. My undergraduate degree was earned in 1976 at the University of Michigan, and my law degree in 1979 at Case Western University School of Law.
I was the first Durham lawyer to be Board Certified as a specialist in family law by the North Carolina State Bar. That unique background in family and civil law were valuable during the 8 years I served on Durham’s District Court bench, particularly when I presided in Civil District Court, Domestic Relations Court, and Abuse, Neglect & Dependency Court. My career is distinguished by my Fellowship in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and my service to the North Carolina Chapter, the NC Bar Association and the Durham County Bar Association.
